What a special relationship ... just thought I'd share a few sweet photographs of mothers and their daughters.

Elberson Family Session

I kicked off the last 3 months of my "Portfolio Season" this morning with a lovely family session.  I was so excited to photograph the Elberson's ... especially because of their daughter's beautiful red hair!  All three kiddos were excellent models, and big brother even showed me some of his photography skills as well!

It is with great excitement and nervous anticipation that I announce that Favorite Things Photography is fully booked for the complimentary 2012 "Portfolio" season.

We are now accepting appointments for 2013!!!

Beginning in January 2013, FTP will be an "official" photography studio serving Winchester Virginia and the surrounding areas of the Shenandoah Valley.

Weeds

Who says a weed cannot inspire beauty?

I beg to differ.

Behind The Lens

The trouble with being a photographer is that you're always the one behind the lens.  You're taking the pictures but never in them.  Usually, that is fine by me!  But, every business woman needs a good head shot, right?

Doubtful but determined, I snapped my portrait lens onto my Canon ... and captured my very best "arms length" shot of myself.

Crude technique?

A bit.

However, I was pleased with the final result ... especially if you have seen my hilarious attempts at taking it.

Ugly Little Tree

My mom and I are always joking about the ugly little tree in our front yard.  It is a homely little thing ... tis true.  However, it does have a tendency to produce nice photographs on occasion.

Last Spring, it played host to a robin's nest and eventually to her hatchlings.

And this Fall, it's hosting these beautifully textured little berries.

My Boys' Session

For months now, I've been telling myself that "I really need to snap some quality pictures of my boys." The truth is ... setting up my home studio takes time and effort ... and that's easier done when it's for a specific client.  However, this afternoon I decided to take advantage of having no real plans ... and snap a few photographs of my boys.

My 2 year old, Jackson, was less than cooperative.  Therefore, there are only a few pictures of him interspersed between those of my baby, Oliver.  Little Oliver turned 4 months old today.  It was nice to practice a bit on my boys and to get a few quality images as well.  I hope you like them.
