We Are Family

There's nothing quite as challenging and equally rewarding as a personal family shoot.  "Just because," I set up my tripod on Tuesday to capture a few images of the four of us for the first time since November 2013.  The boys weren't thrilled with this idea since I has taken their birthday photos just days before (coming soon) ~ but I managed to eek out a few sweet images even without their cooperation.  Ha!

Steven & Renee {an engagement session}

This couple is SO special to me!

My family met Renee about 2 years ago at her job, and we almost immediately formed a unique bond.  In fact, my preschool-aged son, Jackson, calls Renee his "girlfriend."  My little man has some handsome competition now, however, because Renee's getting hitched!  It was such a pleasure to capture this sweet engagement session on Saturday with Renee and Steven.  Don't believe in young love?  Think again!  These two are not long out of high school, but the authenticity and strength of their relationship inspires me.  They are so real.

The Walfoort Family

Oh, how much fun little boys can be!

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful Walfoort family.  Brrr ... we had a cold morning to shoot ... but {thankfully} the you'd never know it thanks to the beautiful soft light of early morning.  The two little guys in these photos were SUCH troopers!  They kept mom, dad, and me smiling throughout their session ... and provided me with several belly laughs during editing.  I just love the innocent authenticity of this family session!

It may be the holiday season for a lot of folks ... but this little lady has something extra to celebrate:

She's turning ONE!

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting sweet baby Alissa and her family.  By definition, this session was supposed to be a "Cake Smash."  However, I also took advantage of Alissa's cuteness ... and captured some very sweet birthday images as well as a few Christmas shots.
